SUB-THEME: REQUIREMENTS FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE.
TOPIC: MENTORSHIP II.
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 2:2, 3:10-12.
2 The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same things to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. Tit 1:5
10 But you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,
11 persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. The Lord delivered me out of them all. Psa 34:19 Act 13:50 Act 14:2 Act 14:19 2Co 1:10 [Psa 34:18]
12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Mat 16:24 Luk 24:26 Joh 17:14 Act 14:22 1Th 3:3 [Psa 34:19]
MESSAGE:
In Paul's mentorship of Timothy, he exhorted him to pass on to reliable men those things he received from him. This will make the pastoral ministry efficient and impactful to other generations.
Paul outlined the successes and challenges, as well as the joys and afflictions, without keeping secret any part of his experience from Timothy. He did this to prepare him to serve faithfully.
Today, mentorship is not given its proper place in the church and society. That is why there is no continuity in almost all spheres of life. To restore sanity in the church, politics,
families, businesses and so on, pick someone today to mentor. This will enhance
faithful service.
REFLECTION:
Mentorship promotes faithful service.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, help me to be open to mentoring. Amen
MEMORY VERSE OF THE MONTH: MATTHEW 25:21.
“His master replied. 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness".
ONE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: DEUTERONOMY 5-7.
